The negligence of one driver can cause a catastrophe for others who share the road with him or her. When truck drivers are negligent, it can cause a truck accident, which can lead to injuries or even death. One recent Tennessee accident may be found to have resulted from a truck driver’s negligence.
The crash took place about two hours east of Memphis on a mid-December afternoon and involved two vehicles. According to authorities, the accident happened after a log truck driver made a turn from one highway onto another. As a result, a car driven by a 27-year-old female hit the log truck. Unfortunately, the driver of the car and another occupant did not have their seat belts on at the time of the crash, and the driver was killed.
The occupant in the car suffered injuries, but the nature and extent of those injuries were not disclosed. The log truck driver was unharmed. As of the last report, the authorities were still investigating in hopes of determining the cause of the accident. No other information regarding this matter was reported.

Tragically, a family is left to grieve the loss of a loved one and a passenger is left injured because of the truck accident. The injured passenger in the car may be able to file a personal injury claim if he or she believes that the log truck driver caused the accident. In addition, the loved ones of the deceased victim may be entitled to file a wrongful death claim. Evidence gathered during the investigation of the crash may prove helpful to both the injured victim and the deceased victim’s family should they decide to pursue justice via a Tennessee civil court.
