A two-car accident recently took the life of a Tennessee high school student. On Tuesday, Oct. 15, the motor vehicle accident occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m., after a car crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a pickup truck. Tennessee Highway Patrol officers claim that speed may have played a role in causing the crash.
According to law enforcement officers, the car that crossed into oncoming traffic ended up in a ditch, resulting in the death of the 10th-grade passenger who was riding in the front seat. The driver of that vehicle, as well as a passenger riding in the back seat, were airlifted to the hospital, where they received treatment for serious injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was also transported to the hospital.
The principal of the 10th grader’s school described the student with kind words. The boy’s father was in a state of shock following the incident. He apparently stated that his son had a lot of friends and that he would be appreciative of any support from the community and those who knew the young man.

The investigation of this Tennessee motor vehicle accident continues. Highway Patrol Officers suspect that speed may have been a factor in the incident; however, none of the drivers have been criminally charged in the matter as of yet. Depending on the outcome of the investigation, the victims of this accident, and the family of the boy who died will likely be eligible for personal injury reimbursement should they choose to pursue legal claims against the person responsible. Such retribution could help pay their hospital bills and assist family members in gaining a sense of closure, following the loss of their loved one.
