Drivers face many obstacles that could lead to a crash. Many car accidents in Tennessee are caused by distracted driving and/or the negligence of a motorist. Recently, a 3-month-old infant died after being in a devastating accident.
The accident happened on a recent Friday morning in Murfreesboro. Police say that a driver was traveling on Highway 99 with another adult and three young children in the northbound direction. The driver came to a stop to allow a turtle to cross the road. A driver of an SUV did not come to a stop and ended up crashing into the back of the vehicle. Medical crews took the occupants of the first vehicle to the hospital for treatment, but the exact nature of their conditions was not disclosed.
The driver of the SUV was also injured and transported to another hospital for treatment. At last report, there are pending criminal charges. No further details about the accident were reported.
Car accidents continue to plague Tennessee roadways. When a death occurs, it is devastating for everyone, especially when the victim is an infant. The family of the infant retains the right to file a wrongful death claim against the SUV driver to seek recovery of monetary damages incurred due to the fatal crash. The individuals who were seriously injured also have a similar right to file personal injury claims for pain and suffering, medical costs and other documented financial losses. An experienced personal injury attorney can help individuals to assess claims for damages and to navigate through the civil court process.
